Michele is an environmental theme coach and was a math/science teacher and school administrator before beginning her work at the CT River Academy when it opened in 2010. She earned a Masters Degree in Math Education at the University of Pittsburgh and a sixth year certificate in Leadership at UConn. She grew up in a Boston suburb and has lived in Poughkeepsie, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, and a few places in Connecticut. She travels extensively withher husband and dog on her boat, including passing through 110 locks in the US and Canadian canal systems and she is the first mate on the school's research vessel. She loves the outdoors and has a passion for keeping our water resources healthy and accessible.
Connecticut River Academy at Goodwin College is a magnet high school located along the Connecticut River in East Hartford. CTRA's sustainability theme provides hands-on learning in environmental studies and advanced manufacturing. CTRA also offers unique college and career experiences, including the opportunity to earn tuition free college credits.
