When Common Ground students develop their leadership portfolios, they reflect on how critical experiences demonstrate their growing mastery of these environmental leadership standards. Teachers integrate these standards into course plans, as they use academic standards as the basis for decision-making. After-school programs and green jobs opportunities integrate these standards, as well. Common Ground's school-wide POWER framework-- Pride, Ownership, Wonder, Effort, and Respect -- Common Ground's long-standing framework for student leadership -- provide the structure for these standards. These standards have gone through several iterations over the last 5 years; this most recent version was developed by synthesizing several transferrrable 21st century skills frameworks with the Common Ground POWER framework.
