At Common Ground, 9th and 10th graders dive into a series of 8 quarter-long units of study -- integrating four subjects around the study of important environmental questions. Core 9 focuses on Common Ground's own campus environment and immediate community, and connects learning in Biology, English, Health, and Social Studies. Core 10 zooms out one step, focusing on environmental issues in the City of New Haven, and integrates Environmental Science, English, Art, and Social Studies.
