This 4PBL curriculum module is part of a year-long Early College Sustainability course at Common Ground High School in New Haven, Connecticut. It leverages the school’s unique campus – including a LEED Gold building, another school building with fewer sustainable practices, a historic farmhouse, and 20 acres of city park land. It also makes use of Common Ground’s proximity to Southern Connecticut State University, just around the corner from the school’s campus. This curriculum unit focuses in particular on the connections between the built environment, human health, and climate change. It includes experiences that are unique to Common Ground, but that could be adapted for other settings.
